Event Information
September 20 and 21, 2008 will mark the ninth annual Sporstfest, scheduled to take place at Camp Robin Hood (www.camprh.com) just outside of Toronto, Ontario. The concept of Sportsfest originated in 2000 and is an extension of the passion its organizers have for sports, philanthropy and Alzheimer's awareness and research.
The first eight Sportsfest events took place in September 2000 through to 2007, collectively raising over $875,000 for Alzheimer's research at Baycrest's Rotman Research Institute (RRI). The event's popularity quick-
ly
grew in scale to the point where last year's Sportsfest had 150 participants, as well as a significant waiting
list. As a result of the terrific support for Sportsfest 2007, we were able to raise over $180,000* with all the
proceeds being used to purchse a computerized assessment registry for use at a unique Memory Clinic.
This year's Sportsfest has all the early signs of being our most successful event yet. Once again we will be following a two day format - the first day being Sportsfest for Men and the second day being Sportsfest for Women. We have already been inundated with enquiries from participants and sponsors alike which has allowed
us to once again expand the event in size and open up new sponsorship opportunities.
